Making sure your website has the right email settings
Your website has many features which take advantage of automated emails. These range from order handling through to email a friend and newsletters. Before it can work however, you must ensure you have added the correct information into your site settings page.
To modify your main site's email and settings "login" to your website administration area, click on the tab "Settings" found on the right hand side of your screen. Click on the link "core settings" under the sub-heading "Main". Scroll down to the section "email related" and complete all of the settings which will look a bit like this
The email object drop down lists all the available email systems your hosting solution has installed. However, some may not work or be usable to you, depending on your host.
You do not need fill out the password and username if you are using Cdont. However, if you use an object that requires them, these settings "must match" the one used when setting up your email address
Note: Always use your correct website email address. This is typically sales@ or info@yoursite.co.uk. Using third party email addresses could lead you to being blocked by some ISP and no longer able to send emails.
