Bulk quantity discounts
The bulk quantity pricing feature allows the administrator to offer one or more products at a discount, based on the quantity the client purchases. For example you might like to offer a 5% discount if a client purchased more than 5 of an item and a further discount if they purchase 10 or more.
You have full control over this feature, and can offer up to 25 different pricing structures based on the quantity purchased. This can be unique for one item, or an unlimited number of products which you can choose from.
Login to your administration area. Click on the tab "Members or Order" and from this page click on the link "Bulk quantity pricing" which can be found under the sub-heading "Discounts".
When your main "Bulk quantity pricing" setting page loads you will see a list of current bulk pricing offers available to your clients. This assumes you have already set these up. You can change any bulk pricing already set up by clicking the "Modify" button. You can remove a bulk pricing structure by clicking the "Delete" button next to the bulk pricing product you wish to administer.
To add a new bulk pricing structure for an item click the "add new" button. Choose the product you wish to offer additional discounts to from the "items" drop down. Once you have chosen your product enter the minimum quantity in the box "QTY from" and the price in the "price" box.
Depending on the settings you have turned on, you can also opt to offer bulk discount to clients assigned a login level discount of wholesale 1 and 2. When you have finished adding your bulk quantity groups click the "submit" button to apply the changes.
For example if your products have a main price of £100.00 each, with the bulk discount you might apply the following;
The example says, if a client purchases 1 to 4 of this item they will be charged the normal £ 100.00 per item. If they purchase 5 they will get them for £80.00 each. If they purchase 10 they will get them for £70.00 each etc.
Note: On the product page which a client sees, a display will read something like; purchase this item for as little as £60.00.
If a client clicks this, a new pop up window will open. This lists the available discounts and the minimum quantity required to get the discounted price.
