Product tabs
This feature has the capability to provide far more information on a page, yet prevent it scrolling forever. You can assign up to 5 tabs per product and these can be either completely unique to each product or some products can share tabs.
Another benefit of products sharing the same tab is it helps to keep your database size down, therefore, the site loads faster. It also allows you to make changes once to products, rather than doing it individually.
Note: The tab look and feel is complete customisable via CSS. Open your main sites CSS file and change the tab values to match your requirements. To learn about your CSS file click here. When you have your CSS file open find the CSS values ".itmtab", "itmtab:hover,.wraptab" etc to edit them.
Login to your administration area. Click on the tab "Content" Click on the link "Product tabs" which can be found under the sub-heading "Products".
When the main "Product tabs " page loads you may see a list of current tabs which you have already set up. To remove a tab click the "delete" button and to change the content of a tab click the "modify" button.
To add a new tab to the system click the "add new" button. This can be seen under the search box. From the next page that loads type a "working name"; this is used within the administration area only and not seen by your clients.
In the "link title box" type the tab name the client will see, This should be kept short as it has to fit within your design. From the login level drop down choose the required access rights if applicable, or leave set to "open to all".
Use the description box to add your content and click the "submit" button to apply changes.
To assign the tabs to your product or products, you can either navigate to your "administer products" page or click the button "assign to items" from within the main tab listing page. Both of these will allow you to click the "Tab" button next to the relevant product.
Choose the number of tabs you need to assign from the "how many to use" drop down. From the new drop downs choose the tab names you wish to show on this product.
Note: The order you assign to the tabs will be the order they are shown on the client side product detail page.
