Handle every single aspect of your site
Main settings
The main settings area of your site allows you to administer the basic features that are used throughout.
Login to your administration area. Click on the tab "Settings". Click on the link "Main settings" which can be found under the sub-heading "Main".
When your main settings page loads, change or complete any relevant settings. Most of these are self explanatory and may not be applicable to your design.
Settings such as "Slogan and footer" are not always used with every design, particularly if you have opted for a complete custom design. This is not a fault but an intentional exclusion.
Note: Unless told to do so "do NOT change" the "database type". Your software was supplied with the standard Access database and unless you have purchased a different database, changing this setting will stop your site from functioning.
Current settings for this page;
| Home page: | This allows you to specify a new home page. Advance usage only, leave as default. |
| Print logo: | Allows you to upload a logo for use on the many print page features of your site. (learn about uploading) |
| Ask a question: | Upload an image rather than using the default form button (learn about uploading) |
| Tell a friend: | Upload an image rather than using the default form button (learn about uploading) |
| Abstract: | Used in the Meta tags normally used to say what you do in one or two words ie pet food |
| Section read more: | Upload an image rather than using the default form button (learn about uploading) |
| Footer: | A one line footer comment, no more than 200 letters long. |
| Database type: | Which database type is your site using? See notes. |
| Number of languages: | The number of languages you want to have in your site. Choose how many and which languages they are. |
| Your country: | The country you are trading from. This is used throughout the site and is important. |
| Site logo: | Upload a logo which is used on the client side of your design (learn about ) |
| Get a quote: | Upload an image rather than using the default form button (learn about uploading) |
| Time adjust: | If the server's time does not match your local time, you can increase or decrease the time stored on your site. |
| Default image: | Used in case an image cannot be found. To not use this feature leave blank. (learn about uploading) |
| Slogan: | A short and snappy comment. Used to put text on a new line. |
| Default sort by: | How you want lists to be ordered. |
| Product sort: | If set to yes you can use the manual order by, to sort your items. |
| Items per page: | How many items you want to show per page. |
| Show date on testimonials: | Allow the date a testimonial was posted to be shown on the client side. |
| Small image size: | Force the small image display to a particular width, set to "none" to use any size. or see here (learn about uploading) |
| Default login level discount: | Assign a login level for when someone signs up. Leave set to none to not use. |
| Use section sort: | If set to yes you can use the manual order by to sort your product and information page sections. |
| Page refresh: | The time taken to display a confirmation before moving the client on to the next page. |
| No of FAQ's per page: | How many FAQ's you want to show per page. |
| No of testimonials per page: | How many testimonials you want to show per page. |
| Trim product text: | Shorten the description text for search results, section display and what's new. |
| Extra CSS sheets: | Allows you to add up to three extra CSS files for use on your site. |
| Mini search button: | Upload an image rather than using the default form button (learn about uploading) |
