What the member area login is
When this feature is turned on it allows your clients to login to a section of your web site. This area is unique to each client and allows them to administer their address, emails and passwords through to viewing past orders, rate and reviews they may have written for your site.
You can use this feature to assign discounts and page level access, as well as other services.
Depending on the features you have opted to use with your site, a logged in member will have access to;
- Administering their contact details
- View past orders
- Reprint invoices / order details
- Upload files
- Add and administer a saved / wish list
- Make their saved list public
- View testimonials written by them
- View rate and reviews written by them
- View individual items purchased
- View their current SmartDeReward points
- Have the contact page pre-filled with their details when checking out
- Have forms automatically complete relevant boxes with their details
- Complete any order which failed or is waiting payment
- Administer and sell books
- View prices with their discount already taken off
- View any page or section which has the same access level as they do
The wording used for the login “Member area login” is dynamic. This means once a client logs in it will change to something similar to “Welcome Mr. Smith”, because of this it does not adapt well to being replaced with a graphic.
You can change any wording that is used throughout the software by administering either the core language file or by adding it to the main settings file.
If you are only using one language for your site and do not need to change many words or phrases, we recommend you add the changes to the main settings file.
Example, open the relevant language file, find the line which reads what you want to replace.
what it looks like;
xxmeblogin="Member area login" and replace this with your own wording.
xxmeblogin="Member administration".
Save your changes and reupload the file.
