What settings do I use to FTP to my site?

When your site was first set up you received the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) information. However, if you have lost these you can do one of two things, depending your hosting service.
If you are hosted with us and have access to your website hosting account (HELM) you can reset or obtain your FTP settings by following these steps.

Login to your HELM account. Depending on your version of software, this information will be contained within your set up email, or is accessible from your main administration page called "HELM control"
If you have clicked the link from within your site administration area you will automatically be logged in to your HELM control panel. However, if you have used a favourites' link or the link provided in your email you will see a login screen similar to the one shown here. Enter your username and password and click login

When "logged in" you will see your main screen as shown here. Click the icon "domains" This will bring up a variety of icons and settings available on your hosting account.
It is "important" to note the screen shot shown here may not be representative of the screen you will be confronted with. Available settings depend on your hosting account type.
When the page loads click on the icon which reads "FTP accounts" and add a new FTP account by clicking the "add new" button.
On the new page type a username, password and click "save". Once
your new settings have been applied you can click on the line which contains your new FTP account. The screen which appears will provide you with all the information needed to login to your site via an FTP program.

Note: If you no longer have your HELM information or are not hosted on our Windows server please contact your web site developer.
