To use this feature, you must have custom error pages switched on and be using the supplied 404page.asp in the root of your website. If you are in doubt, please contact your server company who will be pleased to assist you.

This report will list anything not found on your site, from images to page names and possible hacking attempts. The report is nothing to worry about and is simply a way to ensure you have cleaned up your site after making changes.

An example here would be if you found pages showing in the report that you know you used to have but have now removed. If they are showing here, it could be that someone has linked to the page from their favourites/bookmarks. It maybe that a search engine has listed an old link. In time, the search engine will drop this link but it could be sometime before this happens.

Note: Did you know that if you recreate the page which is missing using a general information page, you can prevent customers and search engines from seeing errors? Simply, set up a page and redirect them to the correct page or to your home page.

If you are seeing images that should not be there it is probably because they are still referenced within your CSS file. Make sure you no longer need the image, then open your CSS file and remove the references to the image in question

Note: Removing unused images which cannot be found in your CSS file, not only make the CSS file smaller but helps your server display the page more quickly.
