Black list an IP or URL
You can black list either an IP address or a website URL. This is useful if a website is linking to your site with inappropriate material or if someone is placing many test or bogus orders with you.
When blocking an IP address you need to make sure you do not block your own. Doing so will prevent you accessing your own site and this includes the administration area.
It is worth noting that ISP’s reassign IP addresses to internet users almost on a daily basis. This means if you block someone using the current IP address it can cause a few issues. If they manage to obtain a new IP address they can continue to harass your site. The IP address you have blocked could be assigned to a genuine new client and this will deny them access to your site.
Note: We recommend you "only" black list an IP for offenders that continually attack your site. You should only do so for a few weeks, and if the problem continues you can re-add them to the block list.
To administer your Black list login. Click on the "Settings" tab and then click "Black list an IP" which can be found under the sub-heading "Extras".
When the main Black list section loads you will see a list of all the IP’s and website addresses currently blocked. To unblock an IP or URL click on the "Delete" button. This will then allow access to your site from this address. To "Modify" a listing, click the "Modify" button and complete the boxes.
Adding a new address to your list is identical to modifying one, except you click the button "Add a new"
To apply your changes click the "submit" button
